Materials, Structures, and Functions for Flexible and Stretchable

Abstract:

Currently, flexible and stretchable electronics have become the most exciting frontier for the next generation of electronic devices, which can conform to soft and curved shapes.1 In the future, they are expected to play much greater roles in the foreseeable age of intelligence and make great changes to our daily life. One of the effective ways to achieve the objectives is the design of highly sensitive and diverse flexible and stretchable biomimetic sensors. To meet the special characters and requirements, rational design and fabrication of diverse sensing materials and novel structures are essential. Various strategies for materials and structure design have been developed in past tens of years. For example, the emerging nanostructured materials like carbon nanotubes and graphene have been selected as attractive candidates for combination with designed micropatterned stretchable substrates to fabricate sensors that are flexible, stretchable, or both.
